What is an ESX Server ?
An ESX server is a physical server with VMware's ESX operating system installed on it. This operating system allows it to host more than 1 Guest Virtual Machines.
What is Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet. Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure in the "cloud" that supports them.
Can I extend my existing enterprise resources using cloud-computing
Simple answer is YES. CloudPronto's Dedicated Cloud enables the extension of an existing IT infrastructure to a cloud environment.
Does "cloud" or "shared" hosting mean other people can see my email, calendars, contact, or other data?
No! Your data is private, and cannot be viewed by another customer.
What is the difference between a Dedicated Server and a Dedicated Cloud?
Dedicated Server. "Dedicated" in this case means we setup a dedicated server just for your company. This is an entire, physical computer dedicated only to your company. This in contrast to a Virtual server.
Virtual Server (VPS). A “Virtual” server, usually a Web server, that shares computer resources with other virtual servers. In this context, the virtual part simply means that it is not a dedicated server -- that is, the entire computer is not dedicated to running the server software.
Dedicated Cloud. "Dedicated Cloud" in this case means we setup and maintain a group of dedicated servers just for your company. Your company will have total control of all aspects of the software and operating systems on the servers which provide the cloud services. Your company will be able to establish Virtual Servers for internal use or resale.
